Penn State slumping in Big Ten power poll

It was probably to be expected, but Penn State continues to be slumping in the Big Ten power rankings compiled and organized by Talking 10 this week. After losing two straight games in Big Ten play to Northwestern and Michigan, the Nittany Lions finished in sixth place in the Big Ten East in the most […]

Michigan vs Penn State tickets much more affordable than in years past

This Saturday, a Big Ten conference game takes place as the Michigan Wolverines host the Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan Stadium. It’s panic time for the Wolverines after they have lost their last three games as the team’s struggles on and off the field have both coach Brady Hoke and athletic director David Brandon […]

This week over on The Student Section marks the first release of the Bloguin Heisman Poll. The Bloguin Heisman Poll has been around for a couple of years now, but this is the first time it has been posted on The Student Section. As a member of the Bloguin community, both here at Nittany Lions […]

Penn State 48, UMass 7: Finally, a breather

Penn State proved capable of handling moments of adversity in week one in Ireland. In week two the Nittany Lions shrugged aside a rough first half against Akron. They answered the late call again last week on the road at Rutgers. In week four, back in Beaver Stadium, there was never a doubt as Penn […]

Penn State 13, Rutgers 10: R U not entertained?

When it came time for me to wrap my head around Penn State’s week two victory over Akron, here is how I started: It may have just been week two, but the theme for this season of Penn State football appears to be clear. The defense is going to put a shaky Penn State offense […]

Penn State 21, Akron 3: Insert zippy headline here

It may have just been week two, but the theme for this season of Penn State football appears to be clear. The defense is going to put a shaky Penn State offense in position to win games until the offense can figure some things out. On what would eventually prove to be a dismal day […]

Morning Cup of Joe: Decisions, decisions… maybe?

I was out of the home office most of yesterday, so there was no Morning Cup of Joe. Trust me when I tell you I could have used it in the afternoon. Anyway, let’s get it brewed this morning. If you had to choose between Penn State having the bowl ban lifted this year, but […]

Nittany Minute: Just how good is Hackenberg?

Following up on a record-breaking day in the season opener, Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg is already being thrown in the conversation as the best quarterback in school history. I am willing to throw him in the top five without any hesitation, but I still feel there is some work to do to move in to my top three, let alone the top spot overall. The potential is there, I will say that much.

Here is today’s Nittany Minute.

Remembering 1994: No. 9 Penn State 56, Minnesota 3

It was on this day in 1994 when Penn State opened the football season on the road against Minnesota in Big Ten play. It was the start of something beautiful in State College. This is the first in a season-long retrospective of my experience following Penn State in 1994, how it was this team that […]
