Penn State is hosting Ohio State Saturday night in Beaver Stadium. The Buckeyes will roll into the game riding a nice little winning streak that has seen blowout victory after blowout victory over Kent State, Cincinnati, Maryland and Rutgers. Penn State’s defense will be put to the test as Ohio State comes into the game […]
The Ohio State Buckeyes (5-1), who rank No. 13 in the most recent AP Poll, will look for their fifth straight win as they travel to Happy Valley to face the Penn State Nittany Lions (4-2). Ohio State is coming off a convincing 56-17 home victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Quarterback J.T. Barrett threw […]
I have been meaning to share my midseason evaluation of Penn State for a few days now, but other writing conflicts and requirements have been continuing to get in the way. But, before we enter the weekend and begin to shift the focus to Ohio State, I figured today was as good a time as […]
It was probably to be expected, but Penn State continues to be slumping in the Big Ten power rankings compiled and organized by Talking 10 this week. After losing two straight games in Big Ten play to Northwestern and Michigan, the Nittany Lions finished in sixth place in the Big Ten East in the most […]
This Saturday, a Big Ten conference game takes place as the Michigan Wolverines host the Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan Stadium. It’s panic time for the Wolverines after they have lost their last three games as the team’s struggles on and off the field have both coach Brady Hoke and athletic director David Brandon […]
This week over on The Student Section marks the first release of the Bloguin Heisman Poll. The Bloguin Heisman Poll has been around for a couple of years now, but this is the first time it has been posted on The Student Section. As a member of the Bloguin community, both here at Nittany Lions […]
Penn State proved capable of handling moments of adversity in week one in Ireland. In week two the Nittany Lions shrugged aside a rough first half against Akron. They answered the late call again last week on the road at Rutgers. In week four, back in Beaver Stadium, there was never a doubt as Penn […]
When it came time for me to wrap my head around Penn State’s week two victory over Akron, here is how I started: It may have just been week two, but the theme for this season of Penn State football appears to be clear. The defense is going to put a shaky Penn State offense […]
It may have just been week two, but the theme for this season of Penn State football appears to be clear. The defense is going to put a shaky Penn State offense in position to win games until the offense can figure some things out. On what would eventually prove to be a dismal day […]
I was out of the home office most of yesterday, so there was no Morning Cup of Joe. Trust me when I tell you I could have used it in the afternoon. Anyway, let’s get it brewed this morning. If you had to choose between Penn State having the bowl ban lifted this year, but […]
Following up on a record-breaking day in the season opener, Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg is already being thrown in the conversation as the best quarterback in school history. I am willing to throw him in the top five without any hesitation, but I still feel there is some work to do to move in to my top three, let alone the top spot overall. The potential is there, I will say that much.

Today on the site I started what will be a season-long series looking back at the 1994 Penn State football season the way I remember it. It was 20 years ago today the season got started with a blowout in the Metrodome. I was not able to watch it on TV, so I had to […]
It was on this day in 1994 when Penn State opened the football season on the road against Minnesota in Big Ten play. It was the start of something beautiful in State College. This is the first in a season-long retrospective of my experience following Penn State in 1994, how it was this team that […]
